"Transitions"
A scene from California's "Gold Country", near Murphys in Calaveras County, represents many transitions.

The cabin in the background was used by gold miners until the 1930's. The land was transformed into a vineyard in the 1980's.

The red dirt that once covered gold now yields a bountiful grape harvest that is fermented into fine boutique wines for which the area is now famous.

Craig and Julie Morton will be exhibiting in Murphys Gold Rush Street Faire on October 1, 2005.
